Alternating maple and walnut strips increase/decrease by 1/8" each time the species is used again, for a layering/cascading effect. Reversal of this pattern for 2 thin strips adds some disruption/change in the pattern. Back side has 2 thicker walnut pieces showing 2 variations in walnut grain, centered by a curly maple board.
Gentle washing with warm water, and occasional care with food safe finish will keep this looking beautiful and lasting for many years.
